The China National Intellectual Property Administration, the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the European Patent Office, the Japan Patent Office, and the Korea Intellectual Property Office will be hosted by the China National Intellectual Property Office from May 20 to 22 in Suzhou, Jiangsu.

The series of meetings of the Directors of the Five Offices is the most internationally influential event among the five bureaus' cooperation, attracting widespread attention from the global intellectual property community. This series of meetings successively included the 14th Deputy Directors' Meeting of the Fifth Bureaus, the 4th Meeting of Directors of the Fifth Bureau and the Industry Sector, and the 8th Meeting of the Directors of the Fifth Bureaus. They are milestones in the cooperation process and future development of the Five Bureaus, and serve as an important platform to publicize and showcase the achievements of China's intellectual property industry in recent years. The conference was held in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, located in the vibrant Yangtze River Delta region with vibrant technological innovation. It is one of the first intellectual property demonstration cities and has established the country's first pilot zone for the clustered development of intellectual property service industries. It is also the location of the Jiangsu Patent Examination Collaboration Center of the National Intellectual Property Administration Patent Office. At that time, the heads of the five offices will lead a delegation to attend the meeting, and the Deputy Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will attend as an observer. In addition, dozens of industry representatives from the five countries/regions will concurrently hold a five-bureau cooperation industry meeting and attend meetings with the heads of the five bureaus and the industry.

The five-office cooperation began in 2007 as an inter-office patent business collaboration among the world's five major intellectual property offices aimed at "avoiding unnecessary redundant work, improving patent approval efficiency and quality, and ensuring the stability of patent rights." Over the past eight years, the scope of cooperation among the five bureaus has expanded from the initial 10 basic projects to dozens of projects under multiple working groups. Many substantial achievements have been made in areas such as inter-office work sharing, improvements in patent examination efficiency and quality, and patent information dissemination and utilization, providing convenience for intellectual property users in the five countries/regions.
