China's state intellectual property office (sipo), the United States patent and trademark office (uspto), the European Patent Office (epo), the Japan licensing office and the Korea intellectual property office (kpo) will host a series of meetings on May 20, solstice 22, hosted by sipo in suzhou, jiangsu province.

The series of meetings of the directors of the five bureaux is the most influential event among the five bureaux in terms of international influence, which has attracted extensive attention from the global intellectual property community. This series of meetings, including the 14th meeting of the deputy directors general of the bureau, the 4th meeting of the deputy directors general of the bureau and the industry meeting, and the 8th meeting of the directors general of the bureau, are of milestone significance for the cooperation process and future development of the five bureaus. The conference will be held in suzhou city, jiangsu province, which is located in the Yangtze river delta region where science and technology innovation is active. It is one of the first batch of demonstration cities of intellectual property and the first national pilot zone for the gathering and development of intellectual property service industry. The directors of the five bureaus will lead a delegation to the conference and the deputy director-general of the world intellectual property organization (WIPO) will attend the conference as an observer. In addition, dozens of industry representatives from the five countries/regions will hold a five-bureau cooperative industry conference at the same time, and attend a five-bureau directors' and industry conference.

The five-bureau cooperation started in 2007, which is the inter-bureau patent business cooperation among the world's five major intellectual property offices to "avoid unnecessary duplication of work, improve the efficiency and quality of patent examination and approval, and ensure the stability of patent rights".
