On September 22, CNIPA Deputy Commissioner Gan Shaoning met with Mr. Leon Wang, Executive Vice president of International of Astrazeneca PLC in Beijing. At the meeting, the two sides exchanged ideas on China’s progress in IP work and IP protection in the field of medicine. Mr. Gan Shaoning said that the Chinese Government has always attached great importance to IP work. A complete system of laws and regulations that covers a wide range of subjects and is in line with both generally accepted international rules and China’s national conditions, together with an efficient IP work system, has been established. China is willing to continue to create a fair and transparent pro-innovation and business-friendly environment in China, where foreign and domestic companies receive equal IP protection. Mr. Leon Wang highly appreciated China’s efforts to protect IP and hoped to strengthen exchanges with the CNIPA.
