In 2010, the number of invention patent applications submitted by our country to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the European Patent Office, the Japan Patent Office and the Korean Intellectual Property Office were 6,552, 2,049, 1,001 and 496, respectively, an increase of 7.1%, 27.7%, 12.3% and 16.4% over the previous year, continuing to maintain a stable and rapid growth.

The growth rate of the number of invention patent applications submitted by our country to the United States, Japan, Europe and South Korea is all higher than the growth rate of the number of invention patent applications received by the respective offices. In 2010, the number of invention patent application受理in the United States and Japan decreased by 7.1% and 1.1% respectively compared to the previous year, while the number of invention patent applications received by the European Patent Office and the Korean Intellectual Property Office increased by 11.9% and 2.4% respectively compared to the previous year.

From the application channel, the data show that more than 70% of China's foreign invention patent applications are submitted through the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). It is understood that these PCT patent applications will enter the national stage one after another, and the number of invention patent applications in China in major countries and regions in the world will steadily increase.
