Metersbonwe T-shirt suspected of infringement, Zheng Yuanjie defends Shuke's rights

Has the fairy tale king Zheng Yuanjie been infringed again?

On June 14, on Zheng Yuanjie's Sina Weibo, a netizen provided information that the cultural shirts produced by Metersbonwe bore the Shuke logo. Subsequently, a reporter from China News Service's financial channel indeed found the suspected infringing T-shirt on the product website.

Shuke is a character in the famous fairy tale author Zheng Yuanjie's "Shuke and Betta," known as the "King of Fairy Tales." His portrayal of a little mouse piloting a helicopter is widely popular.

■ "Shuke" flies into the cultural shirt

On June 14, Sina user "Little Star_Twin Star" reported on Zheng Yuanjie's Weibo that Xi'an Metersbonwe's new short-sleeve sleeves bore Shuke patterns. Shortly after, another blogger said they had warned "King of Fairy Tales" Zheng Yuanjie about this matter a month ago.

Under the Shanghai Animation Film Studio label on Metersbonwe's official website, the reporter indeed spotted the "Shuke" that flew into the cultural shirt. In addition, a batch of well-known animated characters such as Black Cat Detective, Nezha Conquers the Dragon King, Havoc in Heaven, and Snow Child have also appeared as new domestic products.

In response, Zheng Yuanjie stated: "I have never authorized Metersbonwe to use Shuke. ”

■ The most blatant "infringement"?

Such blatant "infringement" must have some "backing," right? From Metersbonwe's product classification, it's clear that the company has reached some kind of agreement with the Shanghai Animation Film Studio, which agreed to use the "Shuke" image. As the largest animation film production base in China, the Shanghai Animation Film Studio has created and published numerous outstanding artistic works. But does this mean it can freely use any artistic image?

Zheng Yuanjie clearly said "No"! He pointed out that this is undoubtedly an infringement. In 1987, he signed a licensing agreement with the Shanghai Film Studio. The contract clearly stipulates: The copyright of the animated characters drawn by Party B (Shanghai Animation Film Studio) based on Party A's (Zheng Yuanjie) creation of "Shuke and Beta" shall be jointly owned by both parties. Neither party may authorize a third party to use it without the other's consent. Therefore, Meiying Studio has no right to unilaterally authorize Metersbonwe to use the Shuke image. Zheng Yuanjie believes this behavior constitutes infringement.

■ Old Zheng wants to defend his rights and save 'Shuke'

"No authorization! It's infringement! Able to defend your rights! In just ten words, it shows the fairy tale king's determination to save "Shuke." So far, Old Zheng not only has a contract in hand, but has also received support from many netizens for defending their rights. Some lawyers have even offered to provide free legal assistance to "Shuke" if needed! It seems that defending rights is now on the string.

Looking back, there have indeed been quite a few cases of copyright infringement involving the 'Fairy Tale King'.

As early as March 2011, a website questioned whether Zhengzhou's "Pipilu Western Restaurant" constituted infringement against Zheng Yuanjie.

In 2010, Zheng Yuanjie boldly declared against the "Crazy Fruit Box": buy 1,000 copies, and the "ten penalties for each counterfeit" rights protection campaign was even more sensational.

In 2007, because Tianjin People's Fine Arts Publishing House included "Black on Honest Island" in the "Rainbow Series Children's Books" without his authorization, Zheng Ye showed determination to sue the other party without hesitation.

Zheng Yuanjie seems accustomed to such frequent infringements. Previously, he had stated: "Based on past experience, as long as I make things public, these 'infringing' entities will respond immediately." This kind of thing has happened many times before. "In response to this infringement incident, the relevant parties believe that Zheng Yuanjie can apply to the court for sealing the property to stop the infringement, and at the same time demand that Metersbonwe compensate for losses based on sales revenue."
